Pathos is a quality that evokes pity or sadness. is a rhetorical device that can be used in an 

argument to draw the audience in and to help it connect with the argument. Example of 

pathos is "Bruises will heal, but scars will last a lifetime."

Ethos is

Logos

or precisely recounts historical events relevant to their argument, he or she is using
